About Me
I haven't always been an organized person. In fact, my childhood bedroom would have made a pretty nasty “before” photo. As a young newlywed, the transition to living on my own (with my partner) for the the first time was an adjustment. I was constantly reading articles in magazines and watching TV shows for tips on how to keep an organized home.
I first excelled at organizing in the workplace. I have had many jobs over the years, but the one thing I've brought to all of them is organization. I reorganized a surgery clinic's filing system to allow for quicker access to pertinent medical information. I implemented a computer file of transferred military personnel addresses in a Naval mail room, cutting forwarding time in half. I created a step-by-step workflow of my data processing job for use by future employees. |
Before launching KnockOut Organizing in 2017, I worked both as an actor and in the team building arena for over a decade. I have organized my own home and helped family members with theirs. I joined NAPO in 2018 and completed training to become a professional-level member. I continue to take classes through NAPO University and I'm still constantly on the lookout for new organization tips to use with my clients.
I love helping others. My kind, open manner is what draws NYC tourists to me when they're looking for directions, even though I'm usually one myself. It's the reason why a lost elderly woman looking for an autobody shop asked me if I could drive her there in her car when she saw me walking on the sidewalk. Helping people turn their homes back into a place they love to be is rewarding. Passing on the skills I've accumulated over the past 20 years so they can do it themselves is even more so.
I have always been an empathetic person. Being able to see things from someone else's perspective has sometimes been emotionally difficult, but it also has been a great privilege. I have been where you are. I know the struggle. I am here to be your cheerleader as you work through this journey, never to judge.
